
SHAH ALAM, Malaysia - Sunday, 17 July 2011 - More than 10,000 Malaysians made a Pledge Towards Better Health today by participating in the Jacob's Walk of Life 2011 (JWOL 2011) organised by Kraft Foods Malaysia, at the Taman Botani Negara, Shah Alam.
Flagging-off eager participants at JWOL 2011 were Guest-of-Honour Yang Berbahagia Dato' Dr. Hasan Bin Abdul Rahman, Director General of the Ministry of Health and Mr Sunil Sethi, Managing Director of Kraft Foods Malaysia. Supported by the Ministry of Health since 2007, JWOL has successfully encouraged thousands of Malaysians to make positive steps towards healthier living.
Yang Berbahagia Dato' Dr. Hasan Bin Abdul Rahman, Director General, Ministry of Health said, “Jacob’s Walk of Life 2011 is a highly commendable effort to encourage the community-at-large to continue taking positive strides towards healthy living. Jacob’s on-going commitment will definitely go a long way in contributing to a healthier nation. We encourage more business entities to embark on positive initiatives such as the Jacob’s Walk of Life 2011.”
Mr Sunil Sethi, Managing Director of Kraft Foods Malaysia said, “Malaysians have grown up with Jacob’s for more than 50 years. Celebrity radio DJs, Fara Fauzana from Hot FM, Gan Mei Yan and Jack Lam Tuck Weng from MY FM jointly made a commitment to a special Pledge Towards Health with the VIPs looking on.
Loads of fun-filled activities including free bone health check by Anlene, sampling activities and morning exercise by Fitness First amongst others took place at JWOL 2011. One can also Take The First Step Towards Better Health by calculating their BMI on www.jacobs.com.my. The BMI results reveals whether one’s weight is ideal and indicates where one is in terms of their health.
Participants completing the walk were presented with certificates of participation and goodie bags courtesy of Jacob’s and all event co-sponsors, Anlene, Fitness First, Mizuno and Spritzer.
Jacob’s healthy offerings includes Nutricious Cracker with a selection of Hi-Iron Cream Crackers, Cream Crackers, Hi-Fibre, Low Salt Hi-Fibre, Weetameal and Hi-Cal Original and Hi-Cal Vegetable. Oat lovers can indulge in the Oatmeal, Oatmeal Apple and Oatmeal Apricot biscuits.
